What to Expect During Your Exam

Duration: 20-40 minutes, customized to your needs.

Comprehensive Testing: A comprehensive eye exam includes reviewing a patient's health history, performing various vision tests, and conducting a thorough assessment of the physical health of the eyes. Some of these tests include:

Visual acuity measures how clearly you see.

Eye pressure testing for glaucoma screening.

Retinal health evaluation, which includes Optos ultra-widefield (UWF™) retinal imaging at no additional charge. These images enable eyecare professionals to discover, diagnose, document, and treat ocular pathology that may first present in the periphery - pathology which may go undetected using traditional examination techniques and equipment.

Refraction to determine your precise glasses or contact lens prescription.

Personalized Care: Our doctors tailor each exam to your symptoms, lifestyle, or health history.

Why Regular Eye Exams Matter

Comprehensive eye exams are essential for maintaining optimal vision and catching issues early. Conditions like glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, or diabetic retinopathy often develop without symptoms. Regular exams ensure early detection and treatment, preserving your vision for years to come. They also keep your prescription up-to-date, improving comfort for work, driving, or hobbies.

Who Should Get an Exam?

  • Children: Starting at age 3, or earlier if symptoms like squinting or difficulty focusing are noticed, to support learning and development.

  • Adults: Every 1-2 years, or annually if you have diabetes, hypertension, or a family history of eye disease.

  • Seniors (60+): Annual exams to monitor age-related changes like presbyopia or cataracts.

  • Symptomatic Patients: Blurry vision, headaches, or eye fatigue require prompt evaluation.
